Quality Engineer Job Opening in Lexington, Kentucky - Our client, a Japanese automotive manufacturer located in Central Kentucky, is seeking a driven and knowledgeable Quality Engineer . The Quality Engineer is responsible for gathering relevant, factual information and data in order to solve quality related problems. Resolve issues by identifying and applying solutions from acquired technical experience. Plan and lead projects by identifying and organizing activities with realistic timelines. Responsible for assuring products conform to established requirements and standards through auditing, inspecting, and testing activities. Interacts with other departments, suppliers, and experts outside company to implement Company Quality goals.
The successful candidate will be expected to have previous experience with, and the ability to:
· BS in engineering or alternative Bachelor?s with relevant certification or equivalent combination of education and experience (Six Sigma Green Belt or professional Quality Engineering certification preferred)
· 5 years? experience in manufacturing environment
· Kaizen, Quality Systems, and Lean Manufacturing techniques
· Developing and documenting procedures
· Good organizational skills, interpersonal skills, oral and written communication
· Qualitative research using software and statistical tools
· Ability to work well with associates of all levels
· Expert knowledge of blueprint reading, statistics, process control, process capability, measuring techniques and gauges
· Comfortable working with outside supplier, customer relations
Must have a quality orientation, strong work ethic, ability to work in a team environment. Ability to management multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Patience, persistence and a good eye for design, creativity and detail. Must have an excellent work ethic and be willing to work the hours necessary to get the job done.
