This position works with EHR healthcare applications in the area of Software Development of current and future product offerings. This lead will be responsible for all aspects of technology including the high-level architectural designing, construction, reconstruction, refactoring, technology standardization and modernization. The position requires proven software architecture and design experience. This lead is also responsible for leading and mentoring developers, and coordinating activities with the development team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Crafting the right architecture get it defined, documented, communicated, for operations and scalability, including deployment and sustainability for healthcare solution.
Ensure architecture, technology, and design standards are used, and used correctly; while documenting all design expectations
Make sure the right modeling is being done, to know that qualities like performance are going to be met;
Give input as needed to issues like tool and environment selection;
Resolve technical problems, disputes, and make tradeoffs related to technology and design.
Maintain morale, both within the architecture group, and externally as well. The latter is done by providing a sound design, when needed, and providing good presentations and materials to let everyone know the organization is on the right track.
Manage risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architecture.
Provide software development staff with regular status reports coding progress and approving design specifications.
Keep abreast of associated technological advances in the marketplace.
Work with Product Management for creating requirements and sign-off requirements.
Develop web-based applications using AJAX, JEE , HTML5, MySQL, Hadoop, HBase, Solr, VistA(i.e. mumps) etc.
Design, write, and maintain software layer and understand database schemas.
Able to identify and work with strategic and technology partnerships to discover new product solutions.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesEducation and Training
Bachelor?s degree in Math, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science
Masters Degree in Math, Physics, Engineering, MBA, or Computer Science desired.
Experience
7+ years of experience of software development for innovative, relevant and emergent technology companies.
Working in healthcare solution is a plush, knowledge of VistA is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior platform or web architect role
Expert-level understanding of cloud architectures, Hbase, Hadoop, Java EE stack, relational and non-relational databases, and non-proprietary rich web interface technologies (HTML5, AJAX, GWT), VistA.
Demonstrated results in scaling technology for growth
Knowledgeable of current technology and stays current
Ability to communicate well across diverse teams with written, verbal, and diagrammatic communication skills.
Experience in performance tuning, and perhaps asset management components
Experience with deploying rich and/or web customer applications in a high-availability, multi-tenant environment
Exemplary general IT knowledge (applications development, testing, deployment, operations, documentation, standards, best practices, security, hardware, networking, OS, DBMS, middleware, etc.)

Should be able to compare and contrast several tools and products available on the various technologies mentioned above.
Should be able to refactor the code to apply design patterns and also ensuring appropriate applicability of anti-patterns.
Should be able to do a code walk-through on sample code selected at random.
Should be able to understand and analyze test reports to ensure that quality goals are achieved.
