Backend Engineer Job Opening in Redmond, Washington - Opportunity
Digitalchemy is looking for a motivated and capable Backend Engineer for a full-time position in Redmond, Washington. Digitalchemy is a successful mobile app company with several category-leading utility and lifestyle apps across multiple brands, with over 75M app downloads to date around the world. Supporting our growth is set of web services that deliver a quality experience to our users while enabling the business. This is an opportunity to use your skills to help power our business to the next level, working with the CEO, engineering, advertising, and design. About You
You?ll really need to bring these:
Solid familiarity with scripting languages (Ruby/Python)
Strong object-oriented fundamentals based on experience in Java or C#
Experience with AWS cloud offerings (RDS, lambdas, etc.) or equivalents
Knowledge of SQL database design and how to query and optimize. You don?t need to be a DBA, but you will be wrangling data
Familiarity with web protocols and APIs (HTML/XML/JSON, etc).
It?s an advantage to have these, but if not, be willing to learn!:
Comfort with source control (git)
Basic data analysis and Tableau reporting and integration
A bias for proving the reliability of your work through automated testing
Understand what it means to run a production service
Attributes and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred and 2-4 years of relevant experience with results you?re proud of. Time served in a startup environment is a plus.
Excellent team practices. You must enjoy working with others and know how to help contribute in a variety of settings including brainstorming sessions.
Good at communicating. Working in a small team means having to speak up, in email, on Slack, and face-to-face.
Flexibility. This is a small, ever-changing company and you?ll work on all kinds of stuff - be prepared to roll up your sleeves and help out!
