Senior Software Engineer Job Opening in Seattle, Washington - Senior Software Engineer at New Engen:
We are looking for a senior-level engineer who is self-motivated, driven to succeed and works well in teams. You must be able to step in wherever the team needs support (UI, back-end, etc.), operate in multiple programming languages, and deliver quality code on time.
Back-end and services development, as well as some experience with SQL databases, is a must; parallel computing and front-end development is considered a plus.
Primary responsibilities to include:
Work with existing code and services to expand or add new features and drive scale-out
Work with and understand the nuances of various third-party ad platforms
Work with and understand platform tools and SDKs for AWS
Design and optimize SQL DDL, queries, and related client code
Effectively communicate with business stakeholders and your fellow engineers when answering questions, participating in discussions, or otherwise helping out
Demonstrated competent design approach and concern for best practices
Possess the ability to work and communicate in a software team: lead discussions, provide thoughtful critiques, and clearly express your ideas or suggestions
5+ years of software development back-end experience in one of the following: C#, Java, PHP, or Python
3-5+ years of experience with SQL databases (MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server)
Plus: Parallel computing experience with Spark or Hadoop
Plus: Experienced at working with dataset sizes ranging from millions to billions of rows
Plus: Experienced with AWS and its various offerings
