Description
This position is responsible for the support, management, and growth of Costco Travel?s web-site and call-center infrastructure; including network and systems architecture. This position involves supporting current and forecasted business projects and initiatives by architecting enterprise infrastructure solutions and technologies to ensure continued success for . This person will design, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot software and hardware issues within our Development, QA, Pre-Prod and Production environments. An extensive knowledge of network security, infrastructure design and architecture, and best practices is required for success.
Responsibilities:
Support and sustain a fault tolerant, supportable, robust, and scalable E-Commerce infrastructure
Provide long-term planning for systems implementation and standards, produce processes and procedures for engineering and maintenance of systems and technologies
Collaborate with software engineering to build, monitor, maintain, and operate our systems
Administration of web servers including installation, upgrades, load balancing, code deployment, documentation, monitoring and troubleshooting
Incorporate security practices into the design of the Infrastructure to protect Costco Travel?s ?Information Assets?
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our production environments and assist with lower environments
Analyze business requirements and design comprehensive cost-effective solutions
Assist in design and integration of new applications and technologies
Share information with others by documenting complex environments and procedures
Provide 24 X 7 on-call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members
Serve as escalation resource
Provide training and documentation to others as needed or required
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
5+ years systems engineering experience
5+ years experience supporting and deploying web servers in an e-commerce, highly available environment
5+ years experience designing, deploying, and supporting Client Server Applications
3+ years providing operational infrastructure support for SDLC-related initiatives including code propagation through environments, change management, identifying operational requirements for upcoming code deployments
5+ years of Development Operations / System Administration experience
2+ years operating in a team lead role within a systems network administration team
Exceptional networking skills and knowledge
Extensive experience with the following (F5, MS Clustering, MS SQL 20122016, Storage, VMware, Cisco, Apache Tomcat, Monitoring solutions)
Recommended Skills:
High level Industry certifications (Cisco, Microsoft, F5, VMware, GIAC, CISSP)
Proven success in analysis, design, and development of E-Commerce solutions to resolve complex business problems
Strong experience of web and application services running Tomcat in load-balanced environments
Experience monitoring and tuning system performance and troubleshooting network and application problems
Experience in regulated environments (e.g. PCI, SOX)
Proven ability in project estimating and sizing of projects in order to provide accurate figures of the work required
Expert knowledge of configuring and supporting LAN, WAN, Storage and Internet (Cloud) technologies
Excellent written and oral communications skills (i.e. effectively communicate complex technical information)
Ability to work well within a small and team environment
