Logistics Specialist Job Opening in Georgetown, Kentucky - Position Summary
The position will perform daily administrative and operational duties for the Freight Management activities and Accounting functions surrounding the Specialized Services unit. Works hand in hand with the Manager of Specialized Services and the Parts Ordering Group ensuring that service performance commitments are met.
Position Responsibilities:
SUPPORTS LOGISTICS MANAGER WITH DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS 40%
Routing of customer orders in OMS to maximize efficiency and minimize blowouts.
Create and distribute carrier load schedules.
Create and distribute customer dock schedules.
Distribute reports as required by our customers and VASCOR Management.
Maintain KPI reports as requested by Management.
Monitor performance of Service Providers to determine adherence to commitments.
PROVIDE EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SUPPORT 35%
Proactively communicates exceptions to Vascor management, customers, and carriers.
Interact with carriers and customers. Makes decisions based on customer service and cost.
Responds to customer queries / requests timely and in a courteous and professional manner.
Ensure parts will arrive on time to support customers production schedule
ACCOUNTING AND ADMINISTRATION 25%
Maintain transportation route data base for all non-LIMS routes associated with the Specialized Services group. Ensures all loads / services are documented.
Maintain transportation rate database. Revisions to current carrier rates and addition of new carrier rates.
Matches up transportation accounts payables to transportation and rate data base. Identifies discrepancies between transportation invoices and carrier agreements.
Supports customer and carrier inquiries regarding transportation invoices.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Education
High School or associates degree preferred.

Skills
Advanced personal computer skills. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook & Czar Lite. Ability to navigate through the Internet.
High level of verbal and written communications skills.
High level of problem solving, planning & organizational skills.
Experience
Logistics expertise (inventory management, purchasing, distribution, multi-mode transportation, and supply chain management).
Strong ability to deal with the unknown, possess tolerance of ambiguity.
