The role of the Healthcare Community Relations Specialist encompasses marketing First Choice Home Health to the community with a goal of building the volume of business. The ideal candidate will build and maintain professional relations with key referral sources. First Choice Home Health is a medicare certified home health agency, that also serves the community through its private duty / home care nursing services as well.
Through the ability to understand evidence based outcomes, this position will generate patient referrals by helping physicians and referral sources understand the benefit of quality patient care at home. The Community Relations Specialist is responsible for meeting the volume expectations for referrals and admissions, and developing plans to successfully manage and grow the :
Degree in Business, Marketing, and/or Management preferred
Clinician with active license (RN, LPN, MSW) preferred
3-5 years health care marketing experience preferred
Competent organizational skills
Sales experience a plus
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently with a team back up
Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the health care delivery team, and demonstrate the clinical knowledge and expertise to effectively consult with all care team members
Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; Internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files, and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars, and social media.
Responsibilities include:
Ideal candidate will develop a SWOT analysis of First Choice Home Health's role in the community and then devise and implement a marketing plan that addresses current and future needs of the organization. Goals include directly impacting volume of referrals; raising awareness of organization in the community through publicity, social media, and other channels, and developing metrics to track success of implemented plans and programs.
