The primary duty of the Manufacturing Process Engineer is to develop, evaluate and improve quality standards for industrial processes, materials, products and suppliers resulting in continuous improvement of safety, quality, delivery cycles and cost within the manufacturing operation. This person will be responsible for the initiation, development, documentation and the continuous improvement of processes and procedures relating to established quality assurance and external agency product testing, data acquisition and analysis, product and process audits, gauge calibration, and evaluation of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products within the manufacturing facility. This person will also be responsible for maintaining and improving processes and procedures within the Quality Management System to ensure ongoing approvals by ISO and other external audit groups. Job Responsibility Review, develop, improve and where possible automate processes of test, audit and calibration. Coordinate and direct the activities of product/process auditors, calibration technicians, and lab test technicians. Review, develop and improve data collection systems and analysis capability for quality related data. Support manufacturing process improvement and new product introduction processes that are lead by factor support engineers. Identify key process variables, identify sources of variation and determine methods for improved process control through implementation and audit results. Coordinate and direct the activities of product/process auditors, calibration technicians, and lab test technicians. May support evaluation of supplier components, subsystems and services. Bachelor of Science degree in engineering majoring in quality, electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering preferably with 3-5 years experience as Manufacturing Process Engineer, Test Engineer or Quality Engineer in a small discreet parts environment. Experience with highly automated processes is a plus. Technical Skills Successful candidates must have a track record of data driven improvements using structured problem solving techniques such as Six Sigma DMAIC, TQM, etc. Must have experience with and/or have received training in ISO 90001-2008 and be familiar with developing and implementing processes within and maintaining ISO compliant Quality Management System standards. Prefer candidates with Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma training and/or certification, experience with data acquisition and analysis tools such as database development, SAP, SQL, calibration and test activities, test process development and automation, project management, documentation of ISO compliant quality management procedures, and certification as ISO internal auditor. Must have ability to coordinate calibration and test activities, test process development and establish automation improvements. Project management skills with mathematical and analytical experience is needed. This position is located in Lubbock, Texas.
