There are several current openings at Westone for entry level production lab techs. We are seeking candidates that have a solid background in of very small custom products. You could be producing any or all of these during your career at Westone: 1) custom-fit hearing health care ear pieces that go inside the ear to make a hearing aid 'work', 2) hearing protection ear pieces for industrial applications, 3) communication and hearing protection for military applications, and 4) ear pieces for use by on-stage music performers, audiophiles, and sports enthusiasts. Those selected for the production lab tech positions will be hired, at first, through a local staffing agency. After a minimum of three months, they may become eligible for a regular full-time job at Westone based on excellence attendance, ability to work on a team, demonstrated skills, and the availability of a full-time opening for them. We particularly value people with backgrounds as: Artists -- sculptors, sketch artists, painters, etc. -- Hand-Crafters -- Sewing, crocheting, building small models, quilters, wood-workers, etc. because they typically do very well here and enjoy their jobs a lot. We need people who really like working with their hands - all day. You will need to be able to figure out what the finished product needs to be and what it should look like based on visualization - and not use calipers, microscopes or schematics to create the final product. Personal protection equipment is required for many production tasks, some of which involve the use of chemicals and powders. You must be able to stand and to sit for long periods of time and go up and down stairs during the work day. Lab jackets are supplied. (Note: this is not a clean room environment where you have to suit up.) Hours are typically days, Monday through Friday, starting anywhere from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., depending on production demands. You must be available for overtime because we work each day until production is finished (typically not later than 6 p.m.) You need to have a high school diploma, GED, or five years full-time work experience in order to be considered.
