Position Summary:
This position develops moderately to high complex software applications for organization. Integrates internally developed applications with off-shelf applications from 3rd-party vendors. Participates in the design process for all types of applications. Collaborates with other software development team members, including business analysts. Maintains existing applications, in addition to creating new ones. Provides end user training/support on developed applications.
Essential Functions:
Develop software applications to meet the needs of the business.
Assist in the application design process.
Oversee technical architecture and system design, in conjunction with IT Management.
Integrate internally developed applications with applications from 3rd-party vendors.
Create and develop software development methodologies consistent with best practices.
Use code testing tools to ensure quality deliverables.
Maintain existing codebases in cases where modifications are required.
Work within defined QA testing framework.
Support IT Management with the software development portions of short and long-term IT projects.
Work with business analysts to turn business requirement into usable code.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor?s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related field required.
Experience:
Six or more years related experience in a corresponding field, preferably in workers' compensation or other insurance environment.
