Full Charge Bookkeeper Job Opening in Chattanooga, Tennessee - This is a full-time bookkeeper position. The basic function of this position is to create, track, and record financial transactions and to prepare financial reports. Financial transactions will include sending information to customers and vendors and posting information to accounting software from such source documents as invoices, purchase orders, cash receipts, and bills.
Tasks could include, but are not limited to:
Complete accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan statements
Assist accountant with recording, reconciling, and verifying data
Complete month-end/year-end closing of records and adjusting entries
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain the chart of accounts
Prepare various indirect tax reports including sales/use, gross receipts, payroll, personal property, 1099?s, etc.
Assist with payroll processing and EFTPS payments
Record payroll transactions
The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge and skills:
Minimum of 2 years recent bookkeeping experience
Strong knowledge of various accounting software including QuickBooks
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet recurring deadlines
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Reliable, organized, and a team player
Ability to handle highly confidential information
