Staff Accountant Job Opening in Tucson, Arizona - We are searching for an outstanding staff accountant to assist with client engagements. We are a small but growing public accounting firm in Tucson specializing in tax and accounting services for individuals and small business clients. We enjoy long-term relationships with our clients and look for opportunities to add value to our clients? businesses by providing proactive planning and consulting services.
Job duties would primarily include:
Tax
Preparation of individual income tax returns, including many which contain advanced tax law issues
Preparation of partnership, corporate, and S-corporate business income tax returns
Preparation of trust and estate fiduciary tax returns
Performance of tax law research as needed to resolve questions that arise during tax preparation
An excellent candidate will have great client communication skills and will be able to build relationships with clients while gathering accurate information and satisfying questions that arise during tax preparation.
Accounting
Review and analysis of business clients? accounting records to make appropriate adjusting entries to produce meaningful financial reports.
Preparation of monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements for small business clients. Our firm provides preparation, compilation, and review level services. We do not perform audits.
An excellent candidate will be able to manage and understand the unique issues that each client brings to the table. He or she will also be able to work with clients to train them on accounting best practices and procedures. Our clients are in a variety of industries and use a wide range of accounting procedures. We need to work with the information we are given to generate accurate statements and tax returns, as well as to help business owners understand their financial results.

This position is full-time, with overtime hours required during tax season. Compensation depends on experience. Benefits include full health insurance coverage, paid vacation and sick time, and 401(k).
