Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer knowledge, certification or Associate Degree in related field is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as medical records and medical insurance documentation. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers and physicians.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to apply general accounting skills to accurately process insurance and patients payments.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Skill and ability to use and operate an adding machine, * computer, fax machine, and copier. Skill and ability to read and understand manuals, medical terminology and insurance claims. Must possess the skill and ability to use computer programs. Possess general knowledge and compliance of HIPPA and its requirements. Ability to work independently in conjunction with being a team player.
