A Top 250 Company is seeking an Accounting Specialist for a long-term contract staffing requirement. This Accounting Specialist is needed to establish the financial status by development and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information.
Responsibilities for the Accounting Specialist:
Reviews all invoices, journal entries, and checks processed by the Accounting Assistants; Payables and Receivables Assistants.
Review all Daily, Monthly, and Annual Reports processed by the Accounting Assistants; Payables and Receivables Assistants.
Analyze and record financial data including but not limited to payroll journals, Inventory, Accruals to proper general ledger accounts in accordance to GAAP and DCAA guidelines.
Prepare General Ledger Reconciliations.
Analyze and record Contract information in Company Software System.
Ability to work with Excel books sheets, analyze and interpret data and deliver complex reports on request.
Communicates any issues, problems and or proposed action to resolve issues to the Accounting Manager.
Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures and ensure proper compliance.
Maintain and update Accounting Assistants job descriptions.
Assist with annual audit.
Requirements for the Accounting Specialist:
College degree in the Accounting, or
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in work related to processing AP/AR, Bank Reconciliations, Analyze and record Payroll Entries, and General Ledger work.
Must have a passion for the accounting work, be able to communicate both written and oral in order for you to know exactly what you want from the company and to deliver the requirements given by the company.
Must be able to work with people and be willing to learn.
