Software Developer Job Opening in Leland, North carolina - ATMC, North Carolina?s largest telecommunications cooperative, is currently seeking a Software Developer.
ATMC?s headquarters is located in Brunswick County, NC along the beautiful Atlantic coast, easy driving distance from Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC.
The primary work location for the development team is in our Leland, NC office within the Brunswick Forest Community.
The Software Developer is responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining ATMC?s application software. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Working with end users to determine program specifications as well as working with users to ensure programs perform to specifications.
Preparing program documentation and materials for end users as appropriate.
Using Java, RPG, and other programming languages to build applications.
Acting as a liaison to outside contractors and vendors to oversee the software development processes.
Developing control procedures for software programs.
Understanding and staying up to date on required current industry knowledge and best practices.
Performing all other related duties as assigned by management. Job requires knowledge of programming languages: Java, RPG, . Must have experience using Eclipse based IDE. Knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware, and peripheral equipment. Knowledge of company policies and procedures. Knowledge of company products and services. Knowledge of telecommunications billing, customer service, and plant functions. Skill in operating various computer equipment and programs. Skill in operating various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, fax, and telephone system. Skill in problem solving and resolution. Skill in reading and interpreting technical documents and information. Skill in oral and written communications. Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to effectively evaluate software packages and programs. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments. Ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
