Microsoft Account Job Description Position: Security Consultant Report To: Manager, Security Consulting Location: Redmond, WA FLSA: Exempt Salary Range: DOE JOB SUMMARY: The Security Consultant provides a broad spectrum of physical security consulting services to the Microsoft client globally. Serving as the physical security subject matter expert (SME) the security consultant is responsible for working directly with the Microsoft client and other vendors providing design, survey, audit consulting and other professional security services to ensure projects meet Microsoft physical security baseline requirements. Duties include security system design, project and program management, threat and vulnerability analysis, and creating and revising security policy documents. The Security Consultant must be a team player with strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects across geographic and organizational boundaries. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ? Interviews and collaborates with client personnel to identify risks associated with specific Microsoft sites. Conducts surveys and security audits of physical security systems at Microsoft owned and leased sites. ? Compiles survey and audit information into comprehensive reports identifying security modifications and recommendations; drafts report summaries and electronic maps with links to site information and photos. Delivers final reports to Microsoft stakeholders. ? Designs security systems and modifies existing designs, provides project management, and integrator oversight as well as detailed project status reports to Microsoft executive management and key stakeholders. Communicates issues and recommendations for resolution to Microsoft executive management in a timely fashion. ? Maintains current knowledge with industry best practices and state of the art design guidelines utilized by Microsoft Security Consulting Team. ? Works with a team and/or individually to ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with established deadlines and within prescribed specifications. ? MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY: Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position. MINIMUM HIRING STANDARDS: ? Must be at least 18 years of age. ? Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., pager or phone). ? Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private). ? Must have the legal right to work in the United States. ? Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English. ? Must have a High School Diploma or GED. ? Must be willing to participate in the Company?s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation. : Required: Five or more years of physical security design consulting, and project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Bachelor?s degree in relevant field required. Perfer candidates with CPP, PSP, or CSPM certifications. Datacenter and Lenel experience a plus. COMPETENCIES (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing): ? Knowledge of electronic access control hardware and software systems, analog / IP video hardware and software system configurations, and alarm hardware and system configurations. ? Knowledge of security technology and emerging trends. ? Knowledge of the physical construction of security related controls including but not limited to doors, elevators, vehicle barriers, key hierarchies, and access matrices. ? Excellent oral and written communication skills required for preparing clear, concise and grammatically correct materials. ? Expert ability to form and communicate concise arguments and operational concepts to others in oral presentations, and doing so in an accessible and understandable manner for highly technical information and concepts. ? Must understand the impact of design and timeline changes to budget considerations. ? Experienced user of Microsoft Office products (especially Word and Excel), Project, SharePoint, AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Lenel. ? Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision. ? Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual and stressful circumstances. ? Strong customer service and service delivery orientation. ? Ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures. ? Knowledge of operations of a 24 x 7 monitoring center. ? Security risk assessment and audit experience. Keyboarding, basic computer usage and operating controls. ? Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing multiple floors of stairs, walking up inclines, and on uneven terrain. ? Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. ? Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds. ?
