Located in Pittsburgh, PA Special Pathogens Laboratory (SPL) is a analytical microbiology laboratory and consulting group that offers healthcare facilities, water treatment providers, and other commercial and industrial sectors reliable, high-quality services specializing in the detection, control and remediation of waterborne pathogens such as Legionella. Waterborne pathogens are responsible for serious infections, including millions of hospital-acquired infections annually. SPL is a purpose-driven company dedicated to safe water. The SPL team has a multidisciplinary approach to disease prevention that includes microbiologists, engineers, communications experts, and medical doctors that provide comprehensive solutions for our clients.
SPL Consulting Services, a subsidiary of Special Pathogens Laboratory, provides a variety of consulting and engineering services to our clients. These include Legionella Risk Assessments with on-site facility assessments, development of Water Safety Plans using risk management methodologies, and expert consultation for facilities completing projects, applying disinfection technologies, developing Legionella policies or plans or experiencing outbreaks of Legionnaires? disease.
SPL Consulting Services is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager for a full-time assignment. We offer competitive salary and benefits, excellent growth potential and a stimulating work environment. The position requires the following qualifications:
Education: Bachelor?s degree in project management, business, a related field from an accredited university; Project Management certificate a plus.
Experience: 5 years of project management or scheduling experience
Professional communication skills
Ability to work both independently and on a team to complete assignments.
Demonstrated use of project management software and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and web applications.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Manage operational aspects of SPL Consulting Services projects and processes to successfully execute contracts and deliver services on time and on budget.
Responsible for managing the process for ensuring reports, products and deliverables meet internal QA/QC standards.
Use of SugarCRM and/or other project management software for project setup and management.
Management of the work product technical review process to ensure timely delivery to client
Responsible for management (planning, coordinating, and supervising activities) of consulting staff. This includes assigning and scheduling staff to field and investigations.
Responsible for the management and execution of standard operating procedures (SOP?s) and a training program for the SPL Consulting staff which includes on-boarding and continuing education.
Responsible for inventory, maintenance, and documentation of field equipment including management of supply purchasing and inventory management to ensure consulting staff can successfully perform their duties.
