Job Summary:
The PD Assistant will partner with product development, design and merchandising teams to develop bedding and bath product that fit into new market and specific customers? product assortments. The successful candidate will have be a curious individual with the willingness to learn, the ability to take initiative, and possess strong analytical, communication and organization skills.
Principle Responsibilities:
Assist Product Managers with timelines, specifications, standards, packaging, and sampling requests.
Communicating information with the overseas factories as well as domestic offices to get development and production projects completed in an efficient, timely manner.
Tracking packages, shipping samples, ordering pantone chips and competitor samples
Responsible for moving and packing samples, organizing samples and shipping product to factories, salespeople and retailers
Perform comparison (comp) shopping and communicate observations of change and opportunities identified
Maintain libraries of documents and samples to support the Product Development team, including size charts and marketing materials and tool box libraries
Assist in preparation for handoff meetings and attend meetings as team representative, taking detailed notes and reporting back action items to appropriate team members
Assist in showroom set up and break down
Other administrative tasks as needed to support projects
Occasional travel to domestic offices with experience
Learn in-house systems, regulatory items, testing procedures/results review, compliance certifications & requirements
Job Specifications:
College degree in related area
Experience/interest in sourcing, design and/or product development (1+ years)
Excellent communication skills - speaking, email/writing
Ability to collaborate as a team is a must, building partnerships with overseas factories and offices, working with internal departments and retailers to build relationships
Creative thinker and problem solver
Ability to manage different tasks and projects simultaneously, keeping to strict timelines
Strong organization skills
Ability to be thrive in a flexible and fast paced work environment
Must be a self-starter with the ability to take initiative
Computer proficient ? Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn to use internal systems (PD&D)
