Medical Billing & Collections Representative Job Opening in Springfield, Pennsylvania - Progress Physical Therapy is looking to add a full-time Billing and Collections Representative in our Springfield, PA Corporate Office!
Job Functions of the Billing and Collections Representative:
Billing responsibilities may include, but not limited to, the following:
Prepare and submit daily, electronic and paper billing to insurance companies, patients or responsible parties to include the printing of forms and attaching proper documentation. Post payments daily to patient?s accounts receivable, allocating payments between services and making appropriate adjustments and transfers from insurer to patient.
Review EOB?s to determine payment status.
Accumulate and maintain proper information in patients file.
The collections responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Review patient accounts on a regular basis to determine if errors in payment or billing.
Pursue collections of accounts receivable through contact with insurers, attorneys and/or patients to address and resolve problems. Update notes in patients? accounts as needed.
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports as required by Management.
Required Skills and Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Prior related experience in the healthcare industry is preferred with 3-5 years medical billing experience
Familiarity working in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software
Must be able to thrive in a call-center type of environment
Willingness to actively pursue payment from patients and third party payers
Must possess the ability to relate and work well with patients, peers, and supervisors.
Must possess exceptional communication skills
Must be able to work well as part of a team
