Software Release Manager Job Opening in New York, New York - Software Release Manager The Release Manager will partner with application teams and business partners to plan and execute software releases across the organization. The selected candidate will apply his/her practical knowledge of release planning, execution, and build deployment using various release management and build deployment tools. The Release Manager will coordinate cross-platform communication between releases and deployments to Production and multiple lower environments. The selected candidate will be technically savvy and have good oral and written communication skills and as they will interact with all level of management across the organization. The candidate must also possess the ability to operate in a fast-paced release management organization and work independently with little supervision.

Responsibilities:

? Develop, plan and implement a Release Management practice for DVC Technology projects and ongoing releases.

? The Release Manager will assist in planning multiple software releases to lower environments and Production.

? The Release Manager is experienced with advanced project management planning/Change Management tools (MS Project, VersionOne, ServiceNow).

? Has the ability to manage critical situations across teams to ensure the overall success of the program/project portfolio.

? Partners with project and program teams, supporting team leaders through the initiation, implementation and close out processes of the change/release process used to deliver multiple parallel efforts.

? Closely align in a matrixed fashion with peer organizations to ensure effective and efficient implementation of new projects.

? Understand technical risk profile to proactively identify potential risks to Production releases and impact post-deployment.

? Develop and communicate release plans to ensure stakeholders are engaged and expectations are effectively established and managed.

? Drive successful execution of project timelines and deliverables; forecast for change and take proactive or corrective action when needed to maintain Production stability.

? Manage releases through all phases of the release lifecycle to ensure the release will achieve the stated objectives and are thoroughly vetted for any negative impacts to Production pre-deployment.

Required Qualifications:

? Minimum 5+ years of overall experience in planning, executing and deploying projects/releases by leveraging Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum methodologies to plan, manage and track projects/releases.

? Minimum of 3 years of experience with hands-on use of VersionOne, Jira, and ServiceNow.

? Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Be able to plan release deployments in 2 weeks cycles.

? Familiar with automated build deployment tools such as Jenkins and RunDeck.

? Ability to clearly communicate project objectives, including detail understanding of milestones, deliverables, and success criteria to the development and executive teams.

? Work with technical leads and product organization to prioritize tasks throughout the project lifecycle and remove impediments.

? Escalate projects risks and constraints to senior management team in a timely manner and identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.

? Ensure the use of best practices and applies lessons learned from previous projects/releases.

? Self-directed and the ability to work independently and manage communications at all levels.

? Demonstrated exceptional critical thinking, strategic planning, and process management skills.

? Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to work effectively across a wide range of constituencies in a diverse corporate and business environment.

? Experience working with virtual teams located globally.

? Ability to resolve matters/issues in a positive manner and flexibility to accommodate evolving business needs.

? Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

? 6+ years of experience in software development and release management

? Agile/Scrum Master credential
