Corporate Accountant Job Opening in Portland, Oregon - DKS Associates is an employee owned Transportation Engineering & Planning firm with a vision of Shaping a Smarter Transportation ExperienceTM. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team here at DKS Associates.
This position will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks including billing support, Accounts Receivable, Cash Receipts, Journal Entries, Reconciliations, and Financial reporting. Key tasks include performing support of project billing, managing revenue recognition, monitoring and inputting cash receipts, managing accounts receivable and consistently applying company accounting standards. Ensuring a commitment to teamwork and collaboration through consistent and professional behaviors.
We are relocating the Finance team from the San Francisco Bay Area to join the Corporate headquarters in Portland, OR. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and our Director of Finance as we make these changes to have our corporate team in one location.
What will you be doing?
Support monthly project billing process for multiple offices.
Assist preparation of draft and final invoice packages containing invoices for all billable projects, including all applicable backup for approval by the Project Manager.
Perform the A/R process including processing cash receipts, posting receipts to A/R, and reconciling variances that occur in the application of cash.
Set up new projects, make transfers of employee billable hours and/or expenses, and open and close projects, phases and tasks in company system.
Recommend and implement agreed process improvements to the cash receipts and A/R cycle.
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
Support the annual audit process
Perform additional assignments as directed.
What are we looking for?
Bachlors degree in business or accounting. One to three years of experience in accounting and receivables. Additional years of experience may substitute for educational requirements.
Proven ability to work collaboratively on a team.
Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to communicate with various levels of staff and management.
Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion
Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities. Organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills.
Highly accurate and organized.
Desired skills and technologies:
Technical capacity and strong skills with Excel, database applications and other software applications.
Deltek/Vision 7.0 experience preferred
