Staff Accountant Job Opening in Seal Beach, California - Staff Accountant
AMIP Management is an alternative asset management firm specializing in the acquisition and resolution of distressed residential real estate and mortgages across the United States. The Company is currently the asset manager for multiple NPL and NonQM private equity mortgage and real estate investment funds.
Responsibilities:
Perform month-end close, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, roll forwards, and financial statements
Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close to ensure accuracy and validity of accounting transactions and company books and records
Reconcile whole loan purchase pools and facilitate transfer to the Company?s servicer
Monitor and reconcile day to day and month end bank balances and transactions along with other treasury management responsibilities
Support accounts payable management activities
Assist in improving the accounts payable functions by helping evaluate processes and implementing changes
Maintain and supervise preparation of documentation in support of external and internal audits
Assist in acting as a liaison for external auditors and tax preparers
Assist the CFO with special projects as needed
Other Ad Hoc duties and responsibilities as needed
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Educational and professional qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a bachelor?s degree in business with emphasis in accounting.
2-3 years of experience in accounting. Real Estate industry specific accounting is a plus
High level of proficiency with Excel required, proficiency and experience with other data base management systems is a plus
A good understanding of IFRS and GAAP
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains desired but not required
Must have excellent communication skills
