Assistant Director Strategic Sourcing / Hospital Procurement Job Opening in Kansas City, Kansas - A-Line Staffing Solutions is Honored to Assist with Recruitment Efforts of an Assistant Director of Strategic Sourcing for a Highly Renown & Reputable Growing Health System
Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Leads and directs the purchasing and value analysis ("Strategic Sourcing") processes for the health system
Provides operational and management expertise, as well as leadership, to the day-to-day Strategic Sourcing operations, and employee functions and issues.
Participates in the design, establishment, and maintenance of the Strategic Sourcing organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the goals of Strategic Sourcing.
Participates in the establishment and implementation of strategic plans, department goals, expectations, and budget.
Supervises and provides management to the frontline Supply Chain Project Managers, including team leadership focused on specific objectives, staffing, timely performance evaluations, training and development, recruitment and retention, and coaching for optimal performance.
Designs, develops, and implements procurement expense and savings reports that detail the System's purchasing activities, and compare per-unit expenses to prior year, current year, and list prices.
Ensures the timely acquisition of goods, equipment, and services in compliance with the System's guidelines, ensuring that the most cost effective purchases are made.
Assures that detailed, specific policies are maintained and available for all Strategic Sourcing processes.
Collaborates with other leaders throughout the System to achieve the Strategic Sourcing objectives of the organization, and to ensure timely resolution of Strategic Sourcing issues.
Oversees monitoring of procurement contract compliance to maximize utilization and to obtain the lowest possible cost.
Encourages product standardization and vendor consolidations to the greatest extent possible without negatively impacting patient care.
Ensures that accounts payable discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner, and all purchasing performance metrics meet and exceed System goals for performance.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business, or other related field
Five to eight years' experience in health care in a large health system at progressive levels of responsibility, with involvement in supply chain administration, project management and operational improvement.
Two to five years budgeting experience in a healthcare organization of comparable size and complexity.
Extensive knowledge of vendor relations, stakeholder engagement, and purchasing processes.
Demonstrated professionalism and superior interpersonal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to interact and work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams from all levels of the organization.
Ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple projects with varying deadlines and levels of importance.
Commands advanced communication skills with various levels of professionals within multiple media/formats
