SCOPE: Directs the accounting operations of the company, including the development of financial reports, maintenance of monthly accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards. This position will interact with all departments within the organization and will have great exposure to the executive leadership team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Management
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Manage outsourced functions
Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
Supports budget and forecasting activities.
Work with direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
Transactions
Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
Maintain the chart of accounts
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure by review and approve accountant?s wire transfers.
Ensure relationship with other International Christian organization.
Reporting
Issue timely and complete financial statements
Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
Provide for a system of management cost reports
Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
Compliance
Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Comply with international reporting requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong faith in Jesus Christ as Savior; God-honoring lifestyle;
Passion for God?s Word and provision of the God?s Word in every sign language;
Championing Deaf Bible Society?s vision, mission, and pillars;
Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience.
3-5 years experience for an entire organization or division of a large corporation preferred.
Must be PC proficient, strong experience with Microsoft programs.
ERP/MRP experience
Proven ability to work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines from multiple customers
Display good organizational skills, attention to detail, and openness to new ideas and procedures.
Ability to build trust and positive working relationships
Ability to explain the numbers in a clear, concise, complete and courteous manner
Act as a business advisor, providing insight into the financial aspects of the business lifecycle
Excellent communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to work seamlessly as part of a team or independently.
