Position Summary:
The Cost Accountant will monitor, compile and report upon various financial data to assure timely and accurate compliance with financial reporting systems and processes; while supporting the BUDs in meeting or exceeding financial goals of the region thru collaborative analysis of financial predictors and indicators.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Daily Activity Reports
Monitor the daily activity reports for WTX (approximately 15 XDFRs currently)
Extract relevant data per report, compile an e-mail summary and communicate to the appropriate personnel.
Collaborate with WTX Office Manager and field managers to correct any non-compliances to 3S processes.
Crew Tracker
Utilize ?Crew Tracker? (Excel spreadsheet) to model any new hires, crew adjustments, pay raises, customer rate changes and work with relevant manager to make sound financial decisions based upon the calculated margins.
Keep the Crew Builder up to date for any changes that are decided upon in above steps.
Work with Office Manager such that you share any crew make-up changes to Ticket entry, and they also share changes they are aware of with you such that all are in sync and up to date.
Execute the ?approval? process on New Hires via Hazard Scout.
Non-Billable Time & Expenditures
Review and approve tickets for non-billable labor using BUD defined guidelines.
Review and approve PO?s for non-billable expenditures using BUD defined guidelines.
Purchase Orders
Review the weekly report for ?Materials Margins? to assure that all PO?s were priced out consistent with Customer MSA Rate sheets.
At least weekly, filter HTS for all open WTX PO?s (Job and EQ). Chase PO creator on any that are ageing.
Assist in securing vendor invoices as needed to prevent stale PO?s/
Daily- run an EQ PO report by date created for the previous day and provide relevant BUD. Investigate as/if requested by BUD.
Equipment Rentals
Compile the rented equipment that is on monthly bill-out, create tickets and facilitate the invoicing for these charges.
Other Miscellaneous Duties
Assist relevant personnel with bid work-ups upon request
Research as may be requested by BUD, Financial Analyst and/or Executive Management
Assist as needed with requests for new job numbers.
Eventually learn to serve as short-term back-up for WTX Office Manager
Projects as assigned
Qualification and Education Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of Business experience
Highly organized
Great attention to detail
Proficient in Excel- spreadsheets with formulas/creating and maintaining financial models
Discipline to maintain a daily schedule of required outputs that are time sensitive.
Capable of managing many tasks while still being highly responsive to needs form the BUD, field and customers.
Excellent written communication skills
Ability to perform highly within cross-functional and cross-departmental teams
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor?s Degree preferred
Oil & Gas experience in a financial analysis role.
