Senior Accountant Job Opening in Kerrville, Texas - A well-established company based in Texas has an immediate need for a Senior Accountant for their corporate office. The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller and maintains up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and legislation relating to reporting requirements and ensure that any required changes are brought to Management?s attention. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Record and post financial transactions, sales, receipts and payments in the company?s ERP system
Ensure accurate general ledger entries and reconciliation of accounts
Collects and analyzes financial data, to ensure all reporting is in compliance with GAAP reporting guidelines.
Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
Provides regular financial reporting to executive management and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statements and other financial reports monthly, quarterly and annually for executive management.
Accurately audit intercompany transactions and allocations
Participate and assist company through any Legal, Financial, Bank, Insurance and Customer audits by compiling/filing all tax and other government filing requirements.
Effectively collaborate with other departments as needed, to finalize and report on all period closing schedules. Period-End reporting and presentations.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 3-5 years? experience providing GL, Reconciliation and other accounting functions. Experience with Tax Accounting and Intercompany financial audits is a plus.
Knowledge of GAAP, with ability to accurately apply concepts
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
Strong Excel skills; knowledge of Microsoft applications
Knowledge of and experience with accounting or ERP software. Experience with is a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of the company
High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to effectively multitask
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
