NEACares VISTA Service position Job Opening in Jonesboro, Arkansas - AmeriCorps Volunteer In Service To America
This is a one-year community service position, with a living stipend of $11,880 and an education award of $5,800 at the end of the year.
This is a non-traditional community service opportunity and is perfect for graduate students who need real-world experience and skills in their fields of choice, while earning an education award and living stipend.
VISTA Liaisons will serve in two main areas:
NEA Cares ?a coordinated system of policies and practices that facilitate access to quality healthcare and comprehensive resources that address the social determinants of health, such as food, housing, family violence, economic stability, parenting and social support needed to improve the short-, mid- and long-term physical, mental and social health of high-risk children and families facing economic and social disadvantage in the 8 CRDC service area counties in East Arkansas: Greene, Craighead, Poinsett, Crittenden, Cross, St. Francis, Jackson, and Woodruff.
Areas of impact are:
(1) Resident Engagement ?Liaisons will engage families to invite them into the NEACares system of care for improved care using a 2-generation, family wrap-around approach to care delivery.
(2) Needs Assessments ?Liaisons will conduct needs assessments with families and compile data to determine overall community needs.
(3) Community Asset Mapping ?Liaisons will use an existing (but outdated) regional resource inventory to confirm existing assets, new assets, contact information, payment systems, insurance systems, hours of operation, etc. This will be turned into an online database for providers and clients.
(4) Database Maintenance ?Liaisons will coordinate with NEACare Navigators to maintain accurate and updated information in the database?daily.
(5) Quality Improvement ?Liaisons will coordinate with NEACare Navigators to ensure that gaps are filled by existing services or work with providers to start new services.
Center for Nonprofit & Small Town Support ?a department of CRDC that offers support to nonprofits and small towns in the 8-county service area of CRDC - Greene, Craighead, Poinsett, Crittenden, Cross, St. Francis, Jackson, and Woodruff - through grant writing, grant management, human resources, information technology, housing, and financial support to build regional capacity to implement a system of care for people facing disadvantage.
(1) Grant Research ?Liaisons will conduct daily grant research in online databases to identify opportunities for clients.
(2) Grant Writing ?Liaisons will participate in the writing process for grants for clients.
(3) Grant Management ?Liaisons will participate in the grant monitoring and reporting process for clients.
(4) Application Review & Processing ?Liaisons will review and process applications from families requesting housing services.
(5) Support ?Liaisons will support all departments assisting the Center for Nonprofit & Small Town Support.
