Fund Accountant Job Opening in New York, New york - PLEASE NOTE: POSITION IS IN MIAMI, FOR CANDIDATES OPEN TO RELOCATION....
The Fund Accountant will:
- Maintain in-house accounting records for commingled funds and review fund administrators? net asset value calculations on a daily or monthly basis
- Maintain in-house accounting records for separately managed accounts and prepare net asset value calculations on a monthly basis
- Analyze and interpret offering documents and legal agreements to ensure proper calculation of management and performance fees
- Calculate, compare, and interpret performance returns
- Monitor cash and margin balances and wire funds as required
- Review daily cash and position reconciliations between the firm?s records and counterparty records
- Review financial statements and associated footnotes on an annual basis in accordance with GAAP
- Review schedule K-1s, tax returns, Form 5500s, and other tax and regulatory filings on an annual basis
- Work on ad-hoc projects as needed
Requirements:
-- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience with public accounting or audit for, private equity funds, and/or mutual funds
- Excellent attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Works well in a team environment
- Supervisory experience, CPA are pluses
