Medical Data Systems, Inc. (MDS) a leader in revenue cycle management is seeking full time Patient Accounts Representative for a high energy, performance focused collection agency with a commission program. If you are a motivated person with good communication skills submit your resume.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The primary responsibilities require telephone follow-up on previously billed hospital/physician claims and request billing of new insurance. The individual must be detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced collection agency environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process accounts in a "queue" type fashion separated by facility. Review system and navigate to client's HOST system to update information and extract data. Document the account at various levels changing statuses, lift dates, codes, addresses, and phone numbers and requesting letters.
Performs various collection actions including contacting insurance companies, attorneys and patients by phone, correcting and resubmitting claims.
Maintains strictest confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA
Possess strong communication skills
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED: some college preferred
Strong verbal communication skills required
1-4 year?s of experience in a healthcare setting preferred such as a hospital business, office, physician?s office, surgery center or a health insurance provider
Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices preferred
Knowledge of moderate medical coding (ICD-9, HCPCS & CPT-4) preferred
Must type 30 WPM
Must be computer literate and able to make a high volume of outbound calls.

Requirements
