Full Charge Bookkeeper Job Opening in Chattanooga, Tennessee - ABOUT THE POSITION:
This is a full-time accounting position in a high-volume, busy Mortgage Insurance firm. The actions required are professional and administrative in nature, with the end work product intended to be monthly AP, AR, and financial reconciliation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.
Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping using Quickbooks.
Other :
Attend all meetings as required.
Follow the established procedures and best practices of the Company to ensure consistency and quality.
Present improvement ideas and suggestions as opportunities arise.
Perform as a team player and provide assistance to other team members willingly.
Must maintain good attendance and punctuality.
Follow all Company Policies and Procedures.
All other duties as required.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Associate?s in Accounting required; bachelor?s preferred; or 7+ years of verifiable experience as a bookkeeper or accountant in lieu of degree.
High level of proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel; and Quickbooks (expert-level). Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under pressure and very short deadlines.
High level of personal integrity and ethics; positive outlook; maturity and good judgment; ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Must possess a high level of detail orientation and accuracy.
Must be reliable.
This position requires presence in the office; it is not a virtual position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Must be able to occasionally bend, twist, or stand.
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
Must be able to work on a computer for long periods of time.
Must be able to work on the telephone for long periods of time.
