Level I
Must meet all of the qualifications for the Montana Board of Pharmacy Technician application.
Upon employment, must register with the Montana Board of Pharmacy as a and commit to becoming nationally certified within 18 months of hire to continue employment OR have active licensure with the Montana Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing, or currently enrolled as a Pharmacy Student in an accredited University Program (second year or higher).
Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program is desirable. Prior health care experience preferred.
CPR HS AED training required.
Proficient typing skills required.
Must have an understanding of medical terminology and calculations. Must have fluent knowledge of medication brand and generic names.
Prior experience in Meditech, Pyxis, QS1, Merge or other similar programs preferred.
Must communicate effectively and maintain cooperative relationships with providers, staff members and patients. Must work effectively in a team environment.
Level II
Must meet the qualifications of Level I Technician.
Active licensure with the Montana Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing, or currently enrolled as a Pharmacy Student in an accredited University Program (second year or higher). At least 1 (one) year as a hospital Pharmacy Technician I and 1000 hours performing Technician II duties, at manager/supervisor discretion.
Proficient working knowledge of aseptic technique for preparing sterile products.
Level III
Must meet the qualifications of Level I and II Technicians
Active licensure with the Montana Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing, or currently enrolled as a Pharmacy Student in an accredited University Program (second year or higher). At least 1 (one) year as a hospital Pharmacy Technician II and must obtain 300 hours in oncology admixture.
