REPORTS TO: Director of Operations and Sales
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Area Manager coordinates and supports all activities within their assigned geographic area. Trains, coaches and supports managers. Plans and sets business goals and focuses on in-restaurant issues and key business drivers.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coaches and trains General Managers on operational excellence. Helps to develop new programs, monitors training processes to ensure quality training of employees.
Builds, follows through and is accountable with and for sale goals and key business drivers.
Successfully develops and manages marketing plans for each shop within their territory.
Provides leadership to General Managers and staff in their territory area to ensure compliance with standards, as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual, BRELLC Handbook and applicable government regulations.
Responsible for General Manager recruiting, hiring and development process.
Ensures that correct operational procedures are followed and takes corrective action when necessary.
Showcases customer service excellence through everyday job duties. Holds General Managers and all crew to the same level. The ability to help maintain a customer focused culture. Lead by example and promote an environment where there is a sense of urgency to satisfy guests.
Works with staff to achieve sales goals, using available reports to identify opportunities to succeed.
Supports, implements and manages local and national marketing initiatives.
Develop and lead operational excellence in their defined Expert Area.
Completes and assures team members complete University of SUBWAY® courses as directed.
Ability to work as part of a team and interact with different levels from hourly and salary team members, customers, vendors, and corporate representatives.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule of nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
Other duties as considered necessary and assigned by Director of Operations and Sales and/or Owner may occur.
Must be a leader possessing these traits ? honorability, morality, honesty, loyalty, accountability, passion, responsibility and reliability.
In addition to sales growth, accountability will occur for shops food cost, labor cost, budgets and operating expenses.

PREREQUISITES:
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred, or extensive work history in this area.
Experience & Skills: 3-5 years of successful, operational management experience in a restaurant environment. Ha excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. Basic math and accounting skills and strong skills are needed; has demonstrated achievement in staff selection, coaching and development.
Physical: Must be physically able to work any station in the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale System/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
License: Must have a valid driver?s license.
