Credit Analyst - Job Description
Calculates potential credit/financial risk exposure and quantifies risk assessment for small businesses and commercial entities.
Performs credit ratio analysis, constructs credit proposals, and makes limit recommendations based on both data and personal judgment to senior leadership.
Completes underwriting activities, evaluates financial position, and determines credit worthiness for prospective and existing commercial merchant accounts and portfolios.
Conducts risk-based investigations on new and existing merchant accounts.
Investigations may include: contacting small business stakeholders in order to gather and evaluate data needed to complete a thorough risk assessment.
Reviews, interprets, and analyzes small business financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, statement of cash flow, etc.), business model details, and business payment profiles.
Experience in Commercial/Small Business lending
Experience conducting financial analysis and credit risk assessment for small businesses
Risk management experience
Payment processing experience
Experience communicating with small entities/customers over the phone
Bachelors in Finance, Accounting or related field.
1-2 years analysis experience.
Candidates must demonstrate an in-depth understanding of risk management practices.
Requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with customers and multiple levels of management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Experience with multi-tasking and navigating through multiple systems/tools.
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple responsibilities effectively without losing attention to detail.
Ability to work self-sufficiently.
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $22.00 to $25.00 /hour
