Chief Financial Officer Job Opening in Reno, Nevada - Serves as a member of the Superintendent's Executive Cabinet contributing knowledge and expertise to WCSD's decision-making processes. Oversees the development and maintenance of the district's budget to assure that the district has a sound financial plan and has sufficient and continuous flow of funds to the district.
Develops, issues, monitors, and coordinates required fiscal reports in accordance with established Nevada Revised Statues, Governmental Accounting Standards, and WCSD policies. Establishes, implements and interprets fiscal and budgetary policies and procedures.
Drafts board policy and administrative procedures in areas of responsibility and serves as the district spokesperson for the implementation and interpretation of these guidelines after they have been adopted by the board and superintendent respectively.
Assures efficient and high quality delivery of services through the coordination of accounting, budget, payroll, position control, and departments; regularly obtains feedback from administrators, other district staff, members of the Board of Trustees, members of the community, and vendors, to continually improve the Finance Office, to supervise and provide fair and meaningful employee evaluations, including development and monitoring of improvement plans and recommendations for termination of employment.
Prepares revenue and expenditure models to provide an appropriate base for budgetary decisions; prepares financial information for bond sales for funding capital (infrastructure) projects.
Provides pertinent information, reports progress, and recommends necessary actions concerning business and finance services to the Superintendent.
