The store manager is accountable for the functionality of the store on every level. The store manager accepts responsibility for store operations with the input and guidance of our management team at the Smokey Row headquarters in Pleasantville.
Responsibilities :
Demonstrate and cultivate the highest level of customer service with all employees
Maintain a high level of urgency in serving customers
Accept praise and criticism from customers appropriately
Support and attend Smokey Row sponsored events, in and out of the stores
Maintain proper equipment for your team
Sustain a high level of employee success in serving customers
Hold Smokey Row products in high regard and serve them accordingly
Submit product orders to vendors according to a schedule
Receive orders and ensure they are properly stored and inventoried
Understand product usage and maintain correct inventory levels and good FIFO practice
Foster good relations with our vendors and suppliers
Optimize a work schedule for you and your team
Be available to your team for answers and questions while not at Smokey Row
Have flexibility to assist on shifts when additional service is required
Train new and existing employees and guide their professional growth
Interview, hire and dismiss employees according to company guidelines
Reward and discipline employees according to company guidelines
Perform quarterly employee appraisals
Document employee issues, including injury reports
Understand and follow the guidelines in the Employee Manual
Maintain accurate cash accounting for the Des Moines Smokey Row store
Be present in the community and represent Smokey Row in community meetings
Participate in weekly meetings with the operations manager
Coordinate donations and special events on behalf of Smokey Row
Manage employee files and paperwork with accuracy and confidentiality

Details :
Work a minimum of 40 hours each week, including days, nights, weekends, and some holidays
Work at the Des Moines Smokey Row with occasional travel, both locally and regionally
Report to the operations manager
