Director of Clinical Services Job Opening in Boston, Massachusetts - The Massachusetts Mental Health Center (MMHC), located in the historic Longwood Medical Area, has been a leader in public and community psychiatry for more than 100 years and offers evidence-based clinical services, research, and training for early-career professionals. The center is operated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts? Department of Mental Health.
The Massachusetts Mental Health Center (MMHC) is seeking a dynamic, recovery oriented administrator to serve as the Center?s Director of Clinical Services. This experienced clinical leader will be responsible for overseeing our multi-site vibrant community mental health center?s continuum of clinical services. As a member of MMHC? s senior leadership team, the Director of Clinical Services will work with other leaders to further the Center?s transdisciplinary vision that promotes and maintains the delivery of high quality accessible integrated services. The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for the management of all outpatient mental health services including but not limited to establishing clinical practices and protocols, program development and evaluation, developing and implementing quality management initiatives, providing individual and group supervision, facilitating case conferences and specialized case consultations.
Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive)
Clinical and Administrative oversight of the Massachusetts Mental Health Center?s continuum of integrated wellness and outpatient services, including multiple primary and specialty teams, and case management services
Overseeing operation of services and transitions in care including: assignment of new client intakes, transfers between in-house services, and closures.
Working with other components of the healthcare continuum, including state operated and acute hospital facilities as well as larger community provider organizations to ensure timely transitions and access to care.
Clinical and administrative supervision of multiple clinical team leaders and case management supervisor(s).
Participation and consultation to the MMHC?s service authorization, risk management and overall service delivery processes.
Represents MMHC at various area level and state level meetings
Works closely with other members of MMHC executive management team to provide organizational, administrative, and clinical leadership to the center
Ensures adherence to Federal, State, DMH and MMHC-specific laws, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a license to practice as an independent mental health clinician in the State of Massachusetts. Candidates must have at least (A) five years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, supervisory or managerial experience in the particular specialty (i.e. scientific, professional, or technical). The above entrance requirements are to be used only for positions for which educational and/or experience requirements have not been established by the General Laws. Entrance requirements established for particular positions by law must be used.
Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency strongly preferred.
Hours: 8:30am to 5:00pm
Days off: Saturday and Sunday
