Front Desk Receptionist Job Opening in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan - The primary responsibilities include providing phone coverage, full reception and administrative support for the company, as well as, assisting the accounting team with various accounts receivable and payable tasks, such as data entry, filing, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Answer incoming phone calls and respond appropriately by forwarding calls, taking messages, etc.*
Assist customers, vendors, applicants, or any other visitors in lobby.*
Responsible for general office duties including various typing, letter creating, processing mail, filing, and switchboard coverage to direct calls and receive messages.*
Provide customer assistance for general questions on orders, shipping information, and copies of documents. Logs communication daily for follow up. Discuss any issues with correct customer service rep/salesperson. *
Send forms to customers and distributors to apply for open credit account.*
Send invoices to customers per the invoicing log.*
Update and maintain invoicing log as required.*
Prepare daily correspondence for mail including invoices, checks, and miscellaneous office mail.*
Scan all invoiced/closed orders with prints; place all scanned closed orders into shred bin OR file in closed order file cabinets, whichever applies.*
Assist Accounting Department with miscellaneous accounting functions as required.*

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Made2Manage, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Outlook.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
Excellent communication skills
Good computer skills
Ability to work independently or with a team

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to wear safety glasses and hard sole/close toed shoes with a low heel when walking through the manufacturing shop and/or repair shop whether as part of performing their job or just passing through. In addition, long hair must be tied back when around hazards of flame, machinery, or equipment.
