Staff or Senior Accountant Job Opening in Scottsdale, Arizona - SUMMARY
This position will assist in completing month-end entries, reconciliations and financial statements for a finance company and a lien processing company. The staff/senior accountant may specialize in one or more functional accounting areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, budget, sales & property taxes, etc. Responsibilities include development and implementation of internal controls, process improvements and maintenance of the general integrity of the accounting function and related reports. Flexibility and problem solving skills, along with solid accounting knowledge are a must in this exciting, young, and growing company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Contributes to the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process for consolidating the company's 6 entities
Identify control and process improvements and simplification measures in financial and operational processes, and work with staff/teams to implement process improvements
Analyzes general ledger activity for accuracy and ensures operational practices are in compliance with GAAP and company policy
Collaborates with operational and other departments to ensure proper accounting and maintenance of financial controls as new initiatives are implemented
Develops departmental process improvements
Oversees changes to chart of accounts
Performs ad hoc research reporting
Prepare timely and accurate account reconciliations
Support Controller with financial information and analyses
Assists with external auditors and compliance requirements

Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Certified Public Accountant helpful but not required
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting positions, including responsibilities relating to accounting or financial controls, consolidating financial statements and intercompany transactions
Understanding of US GAAP
Maintain confidentiality with the highest level of integrity
QuickBooks and construction experience a plus
