RCUH Corporate Human Resources Department. Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Human Resources Department, Research Corporation of the University of Hawai?i (RCUH) core staff, located in Honolulu, Hawai?i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY: $3,250/Mon., Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. DUTIES: Assists with payroll accounting and payroll related tax matters. Assists with all aspects of payroll/tax/fringe benefits accounting including, but not limited to, the collection, reconciliation and distribution of payments to benefits and other vendors, and government agencies. Assists with Human Resources Management System (HRMS) Payroll to produce a timely and accurate semi-monthly payroll under the direction of the Payroll Operations Manager. Performs reviews and audits to ensure compliance with State and Federal payroll and tax requirements, as well as time reporting accuracy and certification. Performs other duties as assigned. Level I is an Entry Level position. Progression to Level II is dependent upon the employee?s ability to demonstrate competence in all facets of job PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/TRAINING: Associate?s Degree from an accredited community college in Business Administration, Accounting or related field. EXPERIENCE: One to three (1-3) years of progressively responsible work experience in one or more of the following: general accounting, bookkeeping of multiple accounts, payroll processing or payroll accounting. (Bachelor?s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Accounting may substitute for one (1) year of required work experience.) ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS: Knowledge of General Ledger reconciliations and payroll tax administration. Knowledge of accounting and payroll-related procedures. Basic knowledge of Federal/State payroll requirements and Federal/State tax regulations and reporting requirements. Ability to independently plan, organize, and problem-solve. Proficient use of PCs, business PC applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), general office equipment, 10-key by touch and internet. Must be service oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. POLICY AND/OR REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS: As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies and procedures and, as applicable, subject to University of Hawai?i's and/or business entity's policies and procedures. SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with computerized payroll processing system preferred (e.g., PeopleSoft/Oracle payroll systems). Previous experience managing a payroll and/or payroll related accounting system. Knowledge of University of Hawai?i and/or RCUH policies and procedures and fiscal/accounting systems. Experience with Oracle/PeopleSoft Payroll for North America. Strong knowledge of computers, database applications, and Internet systems. Strong knowledge of tax laws. Supervisory experience.
