PUBLIC HEALTHCARE WORKER-GCASR QI CONSULTANT Job Opening in Atlanta, Georgia - The Georgia Department of Public Health is the lead agency entrusted by the people of the State of Georgia with the ultimate responsibility for the health of communities and the entire population.
The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Professional Health Care Worker - GCASR QI Consultant within the Division of Health Protection, Chronic Disease, Healthy Behaviors and Injury Epidemiology Section/ Stroke Registry Section/Office.
Job Responsibilities:
The Hospital Quality Improvement (QI) Consultant is responsible for all Georgia Coverdell Acute Stroke Registry (GCASR) QI efforts. The consultant will ensure that the GCASR adheres to CDC guidelines and implement QI activities as planned assessing feasibility at GCASR participating facilities. The QI consultant provides education for GCASR internal team, pre-hospital (EMS), hospital, and post-hospital GCASR participants through various instructional means including workshops and webinars. QI Supervisor is involved in the recruitment, enrollment and training of new GCASR participants. The QI consultant participates in local and national meetings and serves as a liaison for the GCASR to external partners and as an executive board member to GA Stroke Professional Alliance.
1. Works closely with state and national teams to develop and recommend policies and procedures concerning stroke care.
2. Analyze QI issues at participating facilities, provide guidance, solutions, and/or consultation to improve on identified QI issues related to patient care.
3. Create and conduct trainings addressing stroke patient care to all GCASR participating facilities that is EMS, hospitals and post-hospital (home health and rehab).
4. Review and revise QI plan for GCASR participating facilities
5. Establish, maintain strong connection with Georgia EMS state and local agencies
6. Maintain strong relationship with GCASR partners and facilities
7. Assist in writing GCASR grant, progress reports and annual reports following CDC guideline.
This is a part-time position working 29 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
A current Georgia license to practice as a registered professional nurse AND Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND Three years of management experience in the area of assignment
OR
Bachelor degree in nursing, nursing administration, public health or directly related area AND Two years in a management capacity in the area of assignment
OR
Eight years of experience as a registered nurse, including two years in an environment related to the area of assignment and Four years in a management capacity in the area of assignment.
OR
3 years experience in the administration of health service, and some experience in medical fiscal management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the entry qualifications possess 3 or more of the following:
Patient Quality Improvement experience
Stroke System of Care Experience
Familiar with LEAN Methodology PDSA/PDCA
Prior Supervisor experience
Black Belt Lean Six Sigma (BBLSS)
