CONTROLLER POSITION OVERVIEW
The Controller is responsible for the financial operations of the Club. Supervises all accounting functions and directly assist the General Manager/COO on matter relating to budget management, forecasting needs, cost-benefit analysis and internal controls. Develops and implements procedures and policies to control and coordinate accounting, auditing, budgets and taxes. Evaluates and reviews operational performance for cost, revenues and budgets. Coordinates and controls Human Resources transactions, including staff files, payroll and insurance. This senior level position that works closely with and reports to the General Manager/COO.
WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF YOU
Manage the monthly and annual close process
Ensure accurate financial statements are produced in accordance with GAAP
Ensure the financial close is timely and complete in a manner to allow for accurate reporting, analysis and user understanding of historical financial statements and other financial information.
Ensure that all account reconciliations are performed in a timely manner after period end.
Ensure that no significant financial statement errors occur that result in unanticipated required adjustments.
Provide COO with an ongoing assessment of major accounting or financial risks and opportunities that impact the achievement of the annual financial results.
Facilitate annual year-end audit with designated auditing firm.
Oversee the activities of the Accounts Payable Department
Ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts payables, purchase orders, petty cash and expense reporting.
Oversee the activities of the Accounts Receivable Department including membership billing and collection procedures.
Ensures the accurate and timely management of accounts receivable including invoicing, sales adjustments, discounts and cash receipts.
Work with AR Manager to identify and implement process improvements to improve department and company efficiencies.
Oversees the activities of the Annual Operating Budget including coordination with other departments for the timely completion and roll up of the budget. On a regular basis review results against budget identifying variances and offering insight and analysis into these variances as well as input on potential course corrections.
Oversee accounting and analysis needs related to product and supplies spend.
Ensure proper accounting and controls are in place for all Sales Allowance and rebate programs.
Ensure Fixed are maintained in accordance with internal policies and GAAP while properly reflecting the capital investments in the business.
Enforce company policies. Adhere to and support company internal controls and identify and strive for accounting best practices. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and safety rules.
Prepare annual tax provision and ensure all tax filings occur by deadlines.
Develop, Plan, and make recommendations for new areas of technology within the accounting functions along with sufficient planning in areas that support RBCC?s mission.
Assure protection for the assets of the business through internal control and internal auditing.
Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, reduce costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state-of-the-art practices.
Provide technical support on transactional and management systems to department heads and supervisors.
Perform other duties and handle special projects from time to time as requested.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. EDUCATIONAL AND CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor?s Degree in Finance or Accounting (CPA / CMA / MBA preferred) with a minimum of 5 years practical finance experience and a minimum of 2 years experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
A background in food manufacturing is strongly desired.
Advanced Excel and MS Office skill set.
Must have very sound technical accounting background and excellent organizational skills.
Must prioritize duties successfully to meet needs and deadlines.
Must have solid interpersonal skills and the ability to interact productively with others.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding accuracy and attention to detail are required.
