Revenue Accountant for Video Game Company Job Opening in Rockville, Maryland - ZeniMax Media seeks a self-motivated accountant to contribute to accounting system, process, and controls design and documentation related to the revenue cycle for online gaming initiatives. The ideal candidate will have operational accounting experience with a publicly-traded company. This person will report to the Senior Revenue Manager and interact with accounting, finance, business intelligence, development, sales, marketing, and legal teams as well as participate in planning and project management for online gaming initiatives.
Responsibilities
Monitor, process, and reconcile revenue deferrals and recognition related to online revenue streams
Assist in creating and enhancing processes to ensure accurate reporting of revenue and related accounts
Investigate, reconcile, and provide resolution of accounting and financial discrepancies
Create and analyze revenue related reports
Participate in development and documentation of revenue-related policies and procedures
Participate in design, implementation, and testing of systems and processes to support the accounting and reporting for deferred revenue, revenue, cash, and value-added tax
Assist in developing and maintaining internal control structure and procedures for financial reporting
Identify process issues and implement improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency
Support and improve month, quarter, and year-end processes and reporting
Manage special projects and perform duties as required
Requirements
Bachelor?s degree in accounting or equivalent
General ledger accounting experience
Analytical thinker and problem solver who can multitask and adapt to changing priorities
Detail oriented with ability to process large amounts of data
Understanding of internal controls
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with an ERP system (Oracle is a plus)
Pluses
CPA or in process of obtaining CPA license
Accounting experience in a software, SaaS, or e-commerce industry
Microsoft Excel (or other data tool) expert
International accounting experience
Ability to research and apply U.S. GAAP and ASC Topic 606
