JOB SUMMARY: Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention to patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. · Develops and coordinates a clinical treatment program for the diagnosis, treatment, or referral of patients presenting moderate to severe social or mental behavior problems. Involves patient and/or family in treatment planning as appropriate.
· Conducts individual, family or group therapy sessions based on ethical and medical necessity guidelines.
· Develop and provide time-limited psycho-educational groups or ongoing therapy groups.
· Conduct telephone screening for patients in crises. Provides On-Call coverage on rotating basis.
· Provides a multi-disciplinary approach to treatment plan coordinating with other medical staff.
· Administers programs of treatment, interviews and observes patients, and evaluates case histories. Monitors patients' compliance with medication plan.
· Assist in admissions of patients to inpatient mental health facilities.
· Treats disorders utilizing various psychological techniques and selects therapy.
· Assesses patient progress and modifies treatment program accordingly.
· Coordinates care of patients with referring physician or agencies.
· Provide case management and/or long term care for selected patients.
· Documents therapy according to established procedures via an electronic medical record.
· Intervenes as a crises counselor in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment.
· Communicates with family to further the effectiveness of treatment program as allowed by law.
· Coordinates with billing and modifies treatment according to insurance coverage and ability to pay.
· Completes paperwork required by insurance companies and payors.
· Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
· Participates in professional development activities to maintain licensure.
· Must be flexible with schedule to meet demand for patient preferences and departmental business needs. This may involve some Saturday and evening hours.

· Ensures confidentiality of patient information following HIPAA guidelines and TEC policies.
· Attends training to meet requirements of the job position and as needed or mandated by TEC policies, Div. of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH), OSHA, L&I and other state/federal regulations.
· Has regular and predictable attendance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Note that these requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform this job.
Knowledge: Knowledge of the principles and practices of clinical, counseling and rehabilitation or research psychology. Knowledge of current social and health problems related to psychological disorders. Knowledge of community resources and referral agencies. Knowledge of group dynamics. Knowledge of basic computer skills and ability to learn and apply new technologies and skills; proficiency using EPIC and MS Office Suite. Familiarity with lean processes and continuous performance improvement systems.
Skills: Skill in counseling modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, brief therapy, motivational interviewing, CBT or DBT. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the public. Works effectively and collaborative in a team environment. Organizes, prioritizes, and coordinates multiple activities and tasks. Problem-solves with creativity and ingenuity.
Abilities: Reads, speaks, understands and writes proficiently in English. Independent and self-directed. Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems. Remains calm and effective in high pressure and emergency situations. Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and to shifts in organizational philosophy and expectations. Works with initiative, energy and effectiveness in a fast-paced environment interacting with leadership and interdisciplinary clinical staff. Ability to evaluate, diagnose, treat and commit patients. Ability to write reports and document patients' progress within established timeliness standards
Education: Masters level therapist licensures accepted; LICSW, MSW, LM (LMHC) and LF (LMFT).
Experience: 3 years post licensure experience required.
Certificate/License: Must be licensed at a masters level by the State of Washington. Accepted licensures include LICSW, MSW, LMHC, LMFT, LM.
