Cost Accountant Job Opening in Decatur, Georgia - Do you consider yourself to be an expert in QuickBooks? Do you have at least 4 years of cost accounting experience within the manufacturing industry? Do you want to put your advanced skills to the test and work with a great company? If so, we are currently looking for a Cost Accountant for a contract to hire role in the Midtown area.
Your duties as a Cost Accountant will include:
Preform advanced costing-accounting worked covering material and production costs, costs of sales, research, and product development
Compare actual costs to estimates
Analyze variances and develop standard cost data/accurate inventory valuations
Assist with quarterly and year-end physical inventory processes
Examine costs manufacturing work orders following company's costing system.
Prepares the monthly cost of sales figures by analyzing material, labor, and research and development expenses.
Help the corporate accounting manager in preparing monthly journal entries for cost of sales and scrap.
Review and audit the costing system including costs for purchased material inventory.
Prepare reports for accounting manager
Draw charts and graphs, using computer spreadsheets, to illustrate technical reports.
Analyze financial information to forecast business, industry or economic conditions.
Monitor developments in the fields of industrial technology, business, finance and economic theory.
Receive cash/check to make deposits
Review check requests and purchase orders/invoices to verify authorization and advise of potential over-expenditures or misappropriation.
Project based cash flow and cost analysis
You are a great fit if you have:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or business administration with advanced accounting skills
Must have at least 4 year of accounting experience within the manufacturing industry
If you have manufacturing experience within the automotive industry that is preferred
Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks is required
Some Physical requirements as needed
Must have knowledge in financial management, thoroughness, project management, problem solving analysis, communication and technical skills
Must have excellent written and verbal communication
