Core Services Programmer Job Opening in San Antonio, Texas - Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to assist Generations Federal Credit
Union to live out its Mission, Do the Right Thing, by providing remarkable
service to both external members and internal members. Primarily responsible for
being knowledgeable on the capabilities of the Symitar system in regards to
PowerOn programming, standard batch programming options, forms, and Episys
parameter settings. Responsible for the software development of the Credit
Union?s Core System Symitar?s Episys. Responsible for following written
specification for creating PowerOn programs to generate batch and on demand spec
files, reports, and file maintenance routines. Responsible for creating and
maintaining SymForm PDFs. Responsible for creating and modifying batch jobs to
run reports and archiving into OnBase. Responsible for creating reports in ARCU.

Primary Duties

Primarily responsible for creating and enhancing PowerOn programs on the
Core System, Symitar?s Episys which includes batch and on demand programs,
reports, and file maintenance routines.

Work closely and communicate effectively with analysts and other team
members, to implement business and/or system solutions addressing specific needs
of a business area or process.

Work with different departments and staff for enhancing reports. The reports
may be developed on Episys, ARCU or Akcelerant. Ensure the necessary reports are
archived to OnBase.

Create and maintain Symform PDF forms. This may include on demand file
maintenance routines that the forms will perform along with archiving the forms
to OnBase.

Follow written specifications for coding programs provided by analysts.
Conduct code reviews and testing prior to releasing to analyst and users to
verify coding is written to specifications. Ensure code contains documentation
for the department requesting the coding, the purpose of the coding and how the
code works so others can understand the coding.

Actively participate in user groups, vendor demonstrations and user
conferences in order to stay abreast of technology trends and industry best
practices.

Exercise effective change management processes so that system changes are
appropriately tested and communicated to all channels and executed in an orderly
manner.

Familiar with current MIS daily processing and act as backup for performing
the daily operations when needed.

Provide support and maintenance for OnBase.

Monitor the help desk and provide customer support on help desk tickets.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; or three (3) years
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience.

Experience
Must have a minimum of three (3) years? experience in writing Episys PowerOn
programs or 3 years of experience in another programming language such as C,
C++, Visual Basic, ASP, or JAVA.

Skills

Must have the following skills and/or abilities:
Working knowledge in following written specifications and working with an
analyst.

Working knowledge of Adobe PDF or other type of form software.

Working knowledge of javascript, SQL queries, and Crystal Reports.

Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize within a
multi-tasked environment.

Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).

Physical/Other Requirements

Must be able to:
Stand or sit for long periods of time.
Lift 10-20 lbs.
