Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Job Opening in Seattle, Washington - You have industry-leading technical abilities that enable you to significantly improve and measure test coverage, develop the best automation, drive testability and diagnostic ability into the product, while promoting best practices in quality areas.
You build software that tests candidate production code for the purpose of improving the quality of that code. Your vision is to drive better development processes within your organization, involving quality control activities earlier to ensure high quality code in the final product when it is first deployed to production.
SDET Basic Qualifications:
Strong fundamentals in core Computer Science areas like Object Oriented Design, Data Structures and Algorithms
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C++, C#, Java etc.
Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools.
Demonstrated experience in test strategy, test automation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience driving end-to-end software quality
SDET Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an SDET role.
Demonstrated experience in test framework design and development
Demonstrated coding experience with automated testing tools, services, and physical devices.
Experience working closely with development and business teams to communicate impacts and to understand business requirements.
Strong organizational skills, demonstrated ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and synthesize results.
Creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness for the entire team.
Thought leadership on emerging quality assurance methodologies and best practices.
Mental Demands:
Language Skills : Ability to read and interpret documents, instructions and policy and procedure. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with all co-workers and visitors.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a wide variety of instructions, documents, and written or oral information.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. Sitting for long periods of time is required. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers to keyboard data to computers, operating calculator, fax and copying machines. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk, to stand and squat and to reach with hands and arms while retrieving and filing records. The duties may require occasional lifting of small objects, normally no more than 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Office area is climate controlled. Work functions likely require significant portions of some workdays to be spent in a moving vehicle and/or outdoors while operating testing equipment such as computers and mobile handsets, and other aforementioned job functions.
