Our client is an established and innovative company within Industrial Automation.
This company was founded in 1981 in Europe and has grown to an international company with sales and operational activities in 19+ countries.
They are a high service level authorized distributor of industrial automation products, electronic components, and electromechanical products with sales offices serving the North and South Americas.
This position is 80% customer facing and 20% management for a team writing scripts in C# for PLCs. This role requires an individual who is not only comfortable with C# programming language, and at least one industrial programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block, or Structured Text, but also very comfortable with interfacing with purchasers and customers of graphical user interfaces (both in-house manufactured touchscreen devices and homebuilt GUI in C#). This candidate must be very personable and enjoy one-on-one and small group settings where they will be the subject matter expert providing training, troubleshooting, or demonstrating products. This candidate will also manage a team of about 3-4 Engineers who are also troubleshooting and demonstrating products. A successful person in this role will also:
Assist customers to be successful with the company's touchscreen user interfaces (HMI) and software development platform (C#)
Perform technical sales support, may include occasional travel to customer sites
Regularly administrate web forums and use them to create an energetic user community
Be able to read and interpret example code, test programs, and tutorials to support hardware sales
Oversee others who generate and distribute code
Provide billable services by developing custom modules and providing training
Assist development team by testing software, drivers, and OS releases to ensure they meet customer expectations

BACKGROUND PROFILE:
Strong ability to learn new programming languages, technologies, and software
Team player with excellent communication skills, including good writing skills
Must have exceptional troubleshooting and customer service skills
Must have a background in management or equivalent
Cooperate with international Beijer employees
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Customer service or technical support experience
Bachelor?s Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
Moderate proficiency with high level language programming experience such as C++, C#, or Java
Windows troubleshooting and hardware driver installation experience
Electronic hardware understanding
Exposure to the Agile development process
Familiarity with the following:
Automation/PLC Programming, OPC, Profibus, and CAN
Embedded software, WinCE 8, Wec2013
