The successful candidate must have the ability to perform all activities necessary to process payrolls, including maintaining related records, filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, documenting and updating procedures, preparing special reports for management, and working with Finance to ensure month-end accounting transactions are posted. This role is responsible for all payroll related activities and requires the individual to perform the function independently and effectively within a matrix organization to achieve results, and effectively interact and influence at multiple levels within the organization. This role requires the individual to have a working knowledge of payroll and labor law compliance at federal, state, and local levels.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage all payroll transactions and keep all employee data confidential
Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all payroll transactions, both regular and irregular payments
Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all related time and attendance transactions
Answer questions from associates and managers regarding payroll matters, records, deductions and procedures.
Identify, develop and implement process improvements as it relates to the administration of payroll and attendance management
Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures
Perform year-end activities to ensure accurate W2s
Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation and ensuring company payroll practices are compliant. Advise management on pay practices related to FLSA and other labor regulations.
Perform regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance
Support all internal and external payroll and time management audits
Work with outside vendor partners on all benefits transactions
Requirements:
CPP strongly preferred
Minimum 3 years performing all payroll functions?preferably using ADP
Ability to apply complex analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities under minimal supervision
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint and Excel
