Staff Accountant Job Opening in Vancouver, Washington - Sunlight Supply, Inc. is a Vancouver, Washington based manufacturer of lighting fixtures and wholesale distributor of gardening supplies. We are seeking well qualified individuals who can contribute to our Corporate Headquarters here in Vancouver, WA.
Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant position reports to the Corporate Controller and is a key member of the Accounting team that is responsible for financial reporting, maintaining the General Ledger, and ensuring that the company?s business transactions are recorded in compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
Essential Responsibilities:
Reliably accomplish assigned responsibilities related to the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Accounting department
Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations for assigned accounts
Compile, review and analyze accounting data
Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, budget performance, and ad-hoc reports
Accurately prepare and book journal entries for assigned accounts
Perform other general accounting duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience Required:
In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and financial accounting processes
Familiarity with inventory and costing techniques and methodologies
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Detail oriented
Adaptable and comfortable in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to operate ERP and supporting software packages; experience with EPICOR a plus
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Ability to work independently and as a team member
5+ years progressive accounting experience preferably in a wholesale, distribution, or manufacturing environment
Education:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
Work Environment:
Office environment
Occasional extended hours required
