General Ledger Accountant Job Opening in Seattle, Washington - Stabbert Maritime, a Seattle based maritime firm, is looking for a new team member to join the accounting department. We are looking for an energetic individual with a high degree of integrity with the ability to perform the full cycle of accounting duties through reconciliation of the general ledger accounts and preparation of draft financial statements, including cash flow statement.
Primary responsibilities
Input accounts payable invoices and route for approval
Review and interpret customer contracts and prepare billings
Reconcile credit card statements and prepare posting
Compile payroll data such as employee hires, changes and terminations and update the payroll system
Process payroll
Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis and prepare adjusting entries as needed
Prepare and submit business and payroll tax filings as needed
Prepare financial statement package for review by CFO
Support annual audits
Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and workflow to improve efficiency while maintaining good internal control practices
Qualifications
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting, CPA designation is a plus
Strong technical accounting background with minimum 3 years? experience in full cycle accounting role. Experience in a multi-entity accounting environment is preferred.
Technologically savvy with excellent Microsoft Excel skills, experience with Quickbooks Enterprise software, and third party payroll processing services
Experience with international accounting is a plus, particularly Mexico or Latin America
